EU Sanctions Envoy Says No Imminent Plans for Kazakhstan

The European Union’s sanctions envoy David O’Sullivan traveled to Kazakhstan on March 17 in his fifth visit to the country since 2023.As part of his institutional visits, O’Sullivan met with deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin and the deputy head of the Central Bank. O’Sullivan also held meetings with a number of ambassadors from EU member states as well as US and UK ambassadors, who are also engaged in imposing sanctions on Russia for its war of aggression against Ukraine.
